Two Sides of The Life-Coin.

Ah, but you heard life is beautiful?
Hmm, see Auntie Ama and her children,
Did you see her Range Rover and Rolls Royce?
Like she’s making an R collection of cars
My little sister asked me the last time
Have they finally removed the boxing ring from their home
Her little mind resisted to fathom
Why they owned everything except peace
Silence and quiet in their home, like an old woman’s angry grace curse
They’ve never witnessed peace for a week
So I lied to her, and said;
Ayittey Powers and Bukom usually visited
But after her husband’s funeral,
She was still furious, her children continued
Well, they said, life is beautiful,
So I asked her to take it so.

Last week we sojourned to our hometown
My sister tapped me by the arm
I thought; she is about to hit me with questions
Her heart was troubled, she was confused
Maybe she just heard some players received three million dollars
From some folks who claimed to be in a monetary retreat
And came back after an extra game
She tapped me harder, she called my name
See Awuradjoa and Attawura her father
Farmers and rearers, almost nothing to boast of,
Maybe an acre and some dung, their crops killed by a disease
But they called us to dine,
little, but they cared less
Their faces beamed with smiles, the jokes, just great love
A deep contrast to life in the city my sister witnessed,
She did not understand how the principles work.

My mind paused and was silent,
an answer for the little girl, I had to give,
Well, I looked at her, pondered and wondered
The exact effrontery, maybe, to calm this young heart
Sweetheart, take it or leave it;
Such is life, a written story,
You choose what you want to see
Whether to live in chains or to live free
Beyond material possessions is that real you
That you that reaches for the divine
To reflect within the souls of the weary
Your heart would soar; your faith would rise
Only if you choose, to live above your present
And touch the future, with an unfailing boldness;
Your name would be inscribed, among greatest, the conquerors and the most phenomenal beings.

Seven Years Ago; My Poetry Life

It’s been a desire to write poems. I bumped into these ones I wrote seven years ago, how time flies?

What are your thoughts. Let me know? Published twice in the mirror, I think I was only trying…

1.

What is life to you
Some say life is a fight
They master the skill and hold the sword
To slash away all their troubles
That make their day a hell

Some say life is a song
They would practise the tune,
To produce a pleasant sound
That would resound in enemy’s ears.

Some also say life is a race
They master the flair
And running with all their might
They always make a win.

I say life is a book
The moment i was born, i began to write
I would master the phrases and tenses
And end with a proud dot.

2.
ANGER, THE TAMED FRIEND.

Anger is equivalent to hunger
It makes you look much slender
Makes your speech like thunder
Showing your unfriendly temper

If anger were a brother
I would have told my father
To cut his head in power
And protect our lovely family character

Anger makes me wonder
If I could have caused such danger
‘Cos I never knew I was wilder
To yield to anything that meager

The next time I meet anger
I would be more wiser
And treat every issue further
And build that peaceful and sound tower.

3.

Dignity, A found treasure
Your dignity is found treasure
You keep it for your future
For it is a sure way to measure
How you manage society pressure

The way you talk is power
Encourage and become a builder
Insult, and your name is destroyer
Any of these done, surely takes you further

What you wear spells a name,
Good dressing is worth a decent fame
That stands like a lion’s mane
That everyone learns from your gain

Speak the truth all the time
This makes your judgement only a mime
Because all know you of no crime
In honesty, you are prime

Your dignity is your life
You keep it, an honorable wife
She stays with you even past five
And thrives with you in life’s fire.

There you have it guys. Share your thoughts!

Vodafone Ghana’s Big Hug to Ghana’s Health!

20140807-115742-43062759.jpg

Vodafone Healthline, if you have spent time to watch is a combination of various elements to make everyone learn, get inspired and motivated.

As I sat to watch an episode of this program, I realized that when people give money and see what their
money is being used for, they are motivated to give more and more to support that good cause.

Being a witness of how most adults complain of buying phone credits, I was amazed to find out that some of these adults voluntarily bought more credits just to send to the Vodafone Healthline short code to support them.

The program is a perfect initiative. It makes you know that people could help others smile in our community and make them the beautiful people they once were before the pain of sickness and discomfort crossed their path.

After I watched the episode on the young girl who had hurt her pelvis, I was immediately touched. I took my phone and sent a message. I just couldn’t hide the inspiration, the joy and overall, the absolute professionalism these four young doctors exhibited on the screen.

Vodafone Chose Doctors We’d All Love
The four doctors we see almost every week come with some energy and calm. The absolute encouragement is that they exhibit the art of medicine through their words and calmness.
After introducing the problem, these doctors assure the viewers and patients of how complicated but solvable their conditions are.

!

20140807-114219-42139355.jpg

They may not be doctors over fifty, but their ‘young’ minds send information to the thousands of doctors across the country. Sitting patients down, detailing them of their problems and giving them possible solutions would calm them down and bless their diseased bodies with a renewed hope.

Their in depth knowledge of what they talk about radiates the illuminations of the medical profession. They pick the topic or disease, tell you the risk, symptoms and cure in a period of thirty minutes, minus the adverts. Can’t others do same? Not to say all doctors aren’t that patient. I have met some beautiful ones, I always remember them and pray for them.

Segments
The show’s segments are intelligently scheduled. My favourite part is the ‘Sexual Health’ segment, that’s if I had it right. Then the part where the audience get to share their views by asking questions on topics that matter.
In all the program is highly educative and everyone loves this Vodafone has done, it’s admired, it’s welcomed and it’s superb.
Checking up on beneficiaries is another thing the show brings. They give hope, they change lives and advise us on how we could make lives better.

My Thoughts
I watch this program on so many stations. Coupled with Kokui’s sweet voice, let me commend greatly the producers of the show; You’re the spelling of QUALITY in Ghanaian health.

And they asked us to call 255 too. Well done Vodafone, you’ve given Ghanaian citizens a big hug; We cherish this!

Ebola Scare, What People are Doing Wrong and Right.

‘Too much literacy could cause ignorance?’ The authenticity of this statement would be revealed after you journey with me for a while.

During midday news on one of the renowned television stations, the staff had decided not to employ the finger-print registration system but rather, go past it. To them the finger print device could cause them the risk of getting the deadly Ebola virus.

What was their suggestion? Those who did not employ the use of the system were of the view that management should provide a book so that they use their private pen to sign and write their names.

Why I laughed
I remember those days I worked as a teacher and we used a book to register. There were times some of the teachers had sweaty palms and pressed their hands firmly on the books to write. I asked myself, what was their point exactly, if only I heard right, Ebola transmission categorically included fluids from infected persons?

Any Way Out
Yes, most definitely; if we are going to solve the situation, we should do it right. I’m absolutely surprised to still hear the phrase, ‘Government is going to’ and being proactive lets be briefed with ‘Government has done’.

The education on personal hygiene should be intensified. Ghanaian communities should not be spared when it comes to cleanliness and good sanitation. The huge question is before a heap of rubbish became a refuse dump, where were the members of the community.
What are the local assemblies and authorities waiting for before they sanction the filth makers?

What is the right thing
Let’s hope. It’s as simple as that. As we try as much as possible to keep out personal hygiene at its best, prayer and positive thinking would help.
Let’s be strong and support the government, taking care of our surroundings and educating anyone we can.

My Scare
Schools, universities, where students converge. Again parks, stadia and crowded places. It’s not a scary scare anyway, it’s a controllable scare.

Aid from Abroad?
I wish I wouldn’t hear that at all. The major headline I wanted to see in the news was

FOUR GHANAIAN STUDENTS TAKE BOLD STEPS TO FIND VACCINE TO CURE EBOLA

That would have made my day. Now, in one of the headlines I hear some local doctors have run away while we are yet to receive aid.

God bless who ever is bringing the $200million to help us. We need it, and we know God will give us a way for sure.

Sex Tapes

Why on earth would a human being who’s not into the pornography industry want to video sex between himself and her or vice versa and keep it for any reason?

It’s rather disturbing to digest the fact that the youth of the country are seemingly adopting this practise and are reaping the benefits.

WHAT DREW MY ATTENTION
On a usual day, I woke up to promote my articles as I do on twitter, every morning. Then I saw my TL was bleeding with curses, teases, insults and disgusting comments on what happened to be the freshest sex tape.

After sometime I decided to ignore it and move on. By evening after work, it was rather bad. Images, videos, and pictures of these two teenagers had spread and you could not ignore it anymore.

I visited one Ghanaian site and checked the pictures. To my utmost surprise, which forced me to open my mouth wide in absolute disgust, the website had published pictures of the boy, stating his age, his school, and the girl as well. In detail they displayed images, about three each, and had written boldly as their caption something describing those involved.

MY REACTION
Why on earth would we do this? Social media, such an amazing tool has now become the knife we would use to pierce the hearts of people? I was marred, what if I knew this boy or girl? I snapped my fingers and quietly imagined what both of them would be thinking by now? What about their parents? Siblings?

WHO SUGGESTS
My question and your question exactly? Who suggests the video during the act. We are all very much aware of the humiliating experiences some people have had with the release of their sex tapes, though some have by them been catapulted to fame, either by luck or by full intention. But even with this virtually unacceptable positives, people down here absolutely would frown at this practise forever.
Is it the boy or the girl? I think I’ll find a psychologist to interview so I share with my readers.

IMPLICATIONS
Never would someone feel accomplished after sending a sex tape out. I’m certain the remorse and pain still remains. An exaggerated reaction by the public could cause drastic depression and psychological pain on the ‘actors’.
A low self esteem and severe regret could lead to suicidal acts and more dangerous effects.

Ghanaian youth should learn, at least to be more matured in handling such issues. People do make mistakes, though sometimes indigestible, but we have to try to ignore these and move forward, after all, there are better ways of entertaining ourselves than being participants in people’s ‘atrocities’

THE LAW AND SEX TAPES
What if the lady intentionally video-taped the act? Does the guy in this case have the right to take her to court? What if it’s a friend? What is the legal action? Maybe we could solve such issues by tackling them this way.

WHEN IS YOUR SEX TAPE COMING OUT?
A question I asked myself. Well? I’m saying this to the unmarried, the youth and even the married. Make sure it doesn’t come out. There’s no point.

If you think there’s a point, feel free to comment, let’s know more…

Smile Pills

It’s been a day or two after you lost your dear boyfriend. He was absolutely everything else to you, your honeycomb, sugar pie, apple cocktail and lovey lovey.
You lost him, not to death, but to your own best friend who you introduced him to her, three weeks ago. She said the boy was a drug addict, unserious, a Casanova and she apparently told you not to have anything to do with him.
After you considered all the advise, coming from your own best friend, you decided to let go, after all, you wanted your safety and your future, dating a guy with all these qualities would surely put you in danger.

After a week you realise a new name on your bestie’s phone. She’s been texting and calling him and you’re wondering. You’ve been asking her, and she says nothing relevant about it. So you try to call him, it’s a game you play. You call him and you realise that it’s your own past darling.

Your heart sinks, your mind shuts, you cry and you’re aware you’ve been betrayed, murdered and killed. A knife stabbed into your chest, by your own friend and secret bank. Well…

Then you are awake and you see this nonsense about Bobbywrites is saying about the smile pill. You’re already in anger and pain and you have to digest this pill that is being sold.

But my dear one, why would you keep wearing the frown if you clearly know within you that it’s not going to make you any better? Why do you painfully carry that hurt, bitterness and anguish.

It’s true forgiveness comes, but it surely will come later, you would have to forgive, but frowning just keeps the pain and hurts you deeply.

I’ll advise that this August, you learn to get the smile pills. They help you always. They are the necessary medications for the month. Keep that smile, it takes not so much of effort.
Don’t harbour the pain. Let go, come out and be free.

20140801-114901-42541571.jpg

There are so many benefits of keeping a smile, and I’m very sure you’re very aware of them.

Wishing you the best of this month. There are amazing things coming your way…

Let’s smile along the way!
